How this is made.

The name

A heddle is the part of a loom that lifts individual warp threads so the weft³ can pass between them. From Old English hefeld, to lift.

Typefaces

Heddle Loom is one custom family in three voices, self-hosted as variable woff2. Latin subset only; no external font requests². See the full type specimen for weights, glyphs, and the wordmark signature.

Palette

Warm paper above, char below, ember as the bridge. The accent stays identical across light and dark. That's the whole point.
