How this is made.

Heddle is a tool that ships with a printed manual1. This page lists what the manual is set in, what it's printed on, and the work it stands beside.

The name

A heddle is the part of a loom that lifts individual warp threads so the weft3 can pass between them. From Old English hefeld, to lift.

Heddle weaving diagramA heddle bar lifts a single warp thread (the ember-coloured morse spelling HEDDLE) above five neighbouring warp threads, opening a shed; the weft passes through it.WARP

Warm paper above, char below, ember as the bridge. The accent stays identical across light and dark. That's the whole point.

  1. See Brand for the full vocabulary: wordmark, monogram, voice, social headers.
  2. Latin subset is adequate for the English-first product surface. Add latin-ext if international content needs symbols beyond U+00FF.
  3. Weft runs across the cloth; warp runs along its length. The heddle decides which warp threads rise so the weft passes above or below.
